The History of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar was founded in 1998 by Paul Fleming and Bill Allen. Inspired by their love for great food and exceptional wines, they set out to create a restaurant that would provide a premium dining experience for guests.
Since its inception, Fleming’s has gained a reputation for serving hand-selected, USDA Prime beef, aged to perfection by their own chefs. This dedication to quality has allowed them to stand out in the competitive steakhouse industry and establish a loyal customer base.
The Menu: A Perfect Combination of Steak and Wine
At Fleming’s, you can expect nothing less than a world-class dining experience. The menu boasts a wide variety of mouthwatering steaks, including the classic filet mignon, New York strip, and ribeye. These steaks are hand-cut daily and cooked using the finest techniques, ensuring a tender and flavorful result.
However, Fleming’s takes their culinary expertise beyond steak. Their menu also features an array of delicious seafood options, such as shrimp, lobster tails, and Alaskan king crab legs. For those looking for a lighter fare, the restaurant offers fresh salads, soups, and vegetarian options. Regardless of your preferences, Fleming’s has something to satisfy every palate.
Of course, what sets Fleming’s apart from other steakhouses is their exceptional wine selection. With over 100 wines available by the glass, as well as an extensive collection of bottles from renowned vineyards, you are guaranteed to find the perfect pairing for your meal. From bold reds to crisp whites, Fleming’s wine list is a wine lover’s dream come true.
The Fleming's 100®
To further enhance the wine experience for their patrons, Fleming’s introduced the Fleming's 100® program in 2001. This program features a curated selection of 100 wines that are carefully chosen by Fleming’s Director of Wine, Maeve Pesquera, and her team.
Each wine in the Fleming’s 100® is handpicked to complement the restaurant's menu, ensuring that every guest can find a wine that perfectly enhances their dining experience. The list is updated twice a year, offering a unique opportunity to explore different wines and expand your palate.

About My City
Birmingham ( BUR-ming-ham) is a city in the north central region of Alabama, United States. Birmingham is the county seat of Jefferson County, Alabama's most populous county. As of the 2023 census estimates, Birmingham had a population of 196,910 down 2% from the 2020 census, making it Alabama's second-most populous city after Huntsville. The broader Birmingham metropolitan area had a 2020 population of 1,115,289, and is the largest metropolitan area in Alabama as well as the 47th-most populous in the US. Birmingham serves as an important regional hub and is associated with the Deep South, Piedmont, and Appalachian regions of the nation. Birmingham was founded in 1871, during the post–Civil War Reconstruction period, through the merger of three pre-existing farm towns, notably, Elyton. It grew from there, annexing many more of its smaller neighbors, into an industrial and railroad transportation center with a focus on mining, the iron and steel industry, and railroading. Birmingham was named after Birmingham in Warwickshire, England, one of the UK's major industrial cities. Most of the original settlers who founded Birmingham were of English ancestry. The city may have been planned as a place where cheap, non-unionized, and often African-American labor from rural Alabama could be employed in the city's steel mills and blast furnaces, giving it a competitive advantage over industrial cities in the Midwest and Northeast. From its founding through the end of the 1960s, Birmingham was a primary industrial center of the South.
