Mustang Mountain Vineyard: A Taste of Wyoming's Wine Country

Located in the charming town of Lovell, Wyoming, Mustang Mountain Vineyard stands as a testament to the thriving wine culture in this unexpected corner of the United States. In this article, we will delve into the history, offerings, and unique features of this local gem, shedding light on its significance in Wyoming's wine industry.

    A Brief History

Mustang Mountain Vineyard, established in 2005, has quickly become a pillar of Lovell's wine scene. The vineyard's founder, John Evans, recognized the untapped potential of this region, known for its favorable climate with warm summers and relatively mild winters. Coming from a family with a deep appreciation for viticulture, Evans set out to create a winery that would not only produce exceptional wines but also showcase the natural beauty of Wyoming.

    Winemaking Process

At Mustang Mountain Vineyard, winemaking is a meticulous and hands-on process that involves a careful selection of grapes, expert craftsmanship, and modern techniques. The vineyard's team believes in sustainable and organic practices, ensuring that every bottle of wine embodies the flavors of the region while respecting the environment.

    • The grapes at Mustang Mountain Vineyard are meticulously handpicked, allowing the team to select only the highest quality bunches.

    • Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes go through a process called crushing and pressing, extracting their juices for fermentation.

    • The fermentation process takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for optimal flavor and aroma development.

    • After fermentation, the wines are aged in oak barrels, adding complexity and richness to the final product.

    • Once the wines have reached their full potential, they are carefully bottled and labeled.

    • Mustang Mountain Vineyard's wines are then stored in a temperature-controlled cellar for further aging, ensuring they are ready to be enjoyed by wine enthusiasts.

The Mustang Mountain Vineyard experience is not complete without a visit to their inviting tasting room, where visitors can savor a wide range of wines crafted with passion and expertise.
