This local wine bar offers an exceptional experience for wine enthusiasts, providing a diverse selection of wines, paired with delectable dishes and a cozy atmosphere. In this article, we will delve into the wonderful world of Root & Vine, exploring its backstory, wine selection, and the gastronomic delights it offers.

A Brief History of Root & Vine

Established in 2010, Root & Vine quickly became a cornerstone of the local wine scene in Morganton. The wine bar was born out of a shared love for both wine and the community it serves. The owners, Jane and John Williams, noticed a gap in the market: a lack of accessible, yet high-quality wine establishments. Root & Vine aimed to fill that void.

The Williams' passion for wine is palpable, and it shows in the carefully curated selection available at their establishment. They have sought out lesser-known vintages and boutique vineyards to bring a unique and ever-evolving wine list to the locals and visitors of Morganton.

    The Wine Selection

Root & Vine offers an extensive range of wines from around the world. Whether you have a penchant for bold reds, crisp whites, or sparkling jewels, their cellar has something for everyone.

Their red wine collection is a true delight for oenophiles. From the lush and fruit-forward California Cabernets to the elegant and complex French Bordeaux blends, you're sure to find a bottle that delights your palate.

If you prefer white wines to complement your evening, Root & Vine will not disappoint. From zippy Albariños to oaky Chardonnays, their collection includes options for both seasoned white wine lovers and those just dipping their toes into the world of white wine.

One area where Root & Vine truly shines is their sparkling wine selection. With options ranging from classic Champagne to crisp Prosecco, this wine bar is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or simply add a touch of effervescence to your evening.

    Gastronomic Delights

Pairing great wine with exceptional food is an art, and Root & Vine has mastered it. Their menu features a range of dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients, ensuring freshness and supporting the community's producers.

Start your culinary journey with their delectable charcuterie board, adorned with a variety of cured meats, artisan cheeses, and house-made preserves. The harmonious interplay of flavors will both tantalize your taste buds and complement your wine choice.

If you're looking for something heartier, try their braised short ribs, slow-cooked to perfection and bursting with rich flavors. The tender meat is elevated by the chef's expert pairing with a robust red wine sauce, creating a remarkable dining experience.

The magnificent dishes at Root & Vine don't stop there. Whether you're in the mood for delicate seafood, comforting pasta, or vegetarian delights, their menu offers a range of options to satisfy all palates.
