The Turkey Point Light Station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. The population density was 1,734.0 inhabitants per square mile (669.5/km2). There were 1,651 housing units at an average density of 801.5 per square mile (309.5/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 87.2% White, 7.6% African American, 0.4% Native American, 1.5% Asian, 1.0% from other races, and 2.4% from two or more races.
